Been looking on japspeed website and they have them for classic's for £199 delivered are these any good as my standered ones have nearly rotted away (heatshields)any recomendations only looking to spend a couple of hundered quid no more cheers lee
unless your car is running over 350bhp then I would cut the heat shields off and then wrap the headers. While you at it bin the turbo heat shield and wrap that in a bag aswell - Ade
Headers will improve top end power a tiny bit but reduce bottom end spool and a small reduction in torque - which i experienced when I tried this. - if you on stardard turbo
You could also port your own a little to improve spool a little - dont expect too much though - I did this to mine also.
What model - year is it / power you running

Im assuming the standered headers are ok but dont you have to remove the headers to remove the heatshield are the standered ones resonable cheap to get hold of ,thanks for your replys guys
yes - you need to remove the headers - cut the lugs off then wrap - or take your dremel to them - if you have one. take the headers apart and grind the carbon'd up area out on the lip of each part - so they are nice and smooth to each section and up to the block. dont take too much out though.
What model is it - turbo etc
or buy these and do the work on them

then sell yours - you can take your time then

yesh mate understand... but was going to put aftermarket parts on bit easier rip the old off fit the new .was just wondering if these at japspeed would be ok to fit cheers lee
I actually bought a set of the tubular headers above and then immediately sold them on at a loss.
1. Unless tubular headers are made from reasonably thick stainless steel they are likely to crack around the welds in a short period of time.
2. It is unlikely the design of tubular headers will be condusive to good power and torque output on a car running much below 400 bhp and the best option will be ported OE headers and matched uppipe.
