Default DVLA in your street tommorow

Hi all, i was enjoying my week off work cleaning the car this morning as the weather was warm and windy just as i like it, when i looked up i saw a dvla transit van with a man and a women slowly driving down my crescent checking every car parked on the road that had a valid tax disk in the windscreen.
Obviously they where out and about for a good reason to catch non tax payers, with it coming to the end of the month.

Is this going on elsewhere in the country or just in lincolnshire, my misses has told me they come every month but as i've not had time off for a while iv'e only just noticed.
Your thoughts please.

They appear periodically, I dare say in response to anonymous tip offs.

are now i see ! i thought it was strange as was said, we are all on computer so just check there thats the easy / cheapest option i would have thought not employe 2 people a van fuel and wages, another well thought out policy from our new goverment, take spending away from where its needed schools and the like and waste it as above thought the anpr was introduced to do away with spending where not viable.

Two doors down from me fell out with the neighbour across the road over street parking. I always thought it rather odd that the DVLA made a B-line for his car when they were 'in the area'. I have no doubt there was a bit of anonymous calls being made.

Amazing how much time and money the government will spend chasing motorists.

Pity they don't put anywhere near as much into catching and prosecuting those who STEAL cars, or from cars, eh?

Yeah. Cos we have registration plates.

We need a car revolution.
Where we all remove our number plates for a day, they couldn`t prosecute us all, and even if they wanted to they wouldn`t know who we all lived, as we would have no plates for them to trace.

Seen these driving through Cardiff, white transit van with a cctv camera in each corner. As they drive the van scans the number plates of all the parked cars, if one flags up on their system then on goes the wheel clamp!

even when i had my car off the road for new suspension ,brakes etc.. i never decleared it sorn still had 4mths tax on it,it was off the road for a few mths but didnt want the hassle of it all so kept tax on it instead of cashing it in ,even tho my old fella said so, has a valid point really.
