Vauxhall have improved since about 2004, the astra H was a good car (still is) the latest Insignia, corsa and astra are also very good, now you dont have GM USA giving them grief (europe was the only branch making cash!)
You could buy a Kia, or is it Hyundai? one of them gives you a 7 year warranty

Good for businesses though, our current Vectra's are on a 90k mile 3 year contract, but the last year is effectively warranty free due to the current 60k limit.
This would give another 12 months of cover.. well done GM

They must be desperate for sales to offer this. In my experience, the cars are pretty poor. Never owned one, but do work in the trade.
I expect they are banking on the average buyer only keeping the car for 3 years and it not costing them too much more. However, I can see people hanging on to them longer if they know they are covered. This could prove costly....

I've had some good Vauxhall's ..... my Cavalier and Calibra delivered value motoring (if not always 100% reliable) - they were cheap to fix though.
The new Astra looks great (in white) and the Insignia is a good drive ..... but, there were no discounts when I was looking 3 months ago!

Also had 2 vauxhall Omega's, both great with no issues, more reliable than those people I know with vw's for instance (another one of the guys at work has just had his TDI's gearbox rebuilt ) so vauxhall are not desperate to sell cars as they are selling themselves without any effort
