Default Afterburner Vortex system vs Blitz Nur spec

without bungs, the Blitzz is Louder, but how much louder than the vortex ?

listened on youtube, cant make it out

Is the vortex not far off the Blitz ?

is the vortex better for Non droning or burst eardrums ?

this is the mid section and the backbox (afterburner)

cheers

I`ve got a vortex and mid-pipe, prodrive sports cat and 2nd decat and its LOUD!!!!! I would say on a par with the Blitz, I didn`t realise how loud until my mrs borowed it and i heard it driving past me but on the upside you can hear the turbo spooling through the back Still get cabin drone, might be better with a resonated centre, Thinking of changing backbox to something a little less angry, But not too quiet

Depends, I have a full decat and afterburner box, not too loudo
on tickover, but loud driving off, not too much if a drone, you can hear the turbo whistle, However, I have a friend with an RB5 and his is louder on tickover and generally deeper sounding!

I have the Vortex Afterburner it sounds loud and drones but also my Scooby is stripped out for track days so cabin noise always greater.

I didn't realise how loud it was until my parents came to visit and I took my Dad out; family waiting in the garden heard me basically do a full circle of the country roads that skirt the village..

I got this email when I made enquiries about noise:

Rebecca

The bung is £25.99. If you want a quieter back box which doesnt lose any power the racebox is £199.99 and full sepc can be found in our exhaust section:

http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog...t.php?p_id=686

I hope that helps.

Ninja 2 here I was expecting louder at 4.5 inch tailpipe but I think the 2.5 inch diameter helps. Sounds good but can sit at 80mph without ear ache.

I found that the Vortex is not as loud as a Nur Spec R. My dad had a Vortex, fully decated, Gruppe-S manifold etc, not as loud as my fully decatted Nur Spec R, and no where near as bassy!

I have a Vortex Full system with resonator. which replaced my Apexi N1.

I love the noise it makes. Its not to noisey on tickover but as mentioned before on boost its loud. I think there can be cabin noise when I'm doing 80 but my roads are always A roads.

I tend to get a few pops and bangs to which is good. Makes car more agressive I think.

I have a 2.5" de-cated with a vortex back box, I had it tested for a track day and it was 103db at 5k rpm whilst standing still.
Sounds good i think but as said it can drone a bit on a long motorway drive.

I made 91 - 93 dB at 5000rpm and 80-81dB at idle. Both measured at 1m from the exhaust.
Im running an afterburner centre section and a Ninja 2 backbox. Its not the deepest or loudest, but its certainly not quiet. Has a nice rumble at tick over, and when you give it the beans coming off the apex corner on to A1 NB - 2nd 6k, 3rd 6k, 4th 4k it truely sounds Godatious.

Exit - everyone thinks its a Harley motorbike pulling up when ever I park it

The blitz is definetley more bassy than the vortex, but the vortex produces a nice roar when you open it up and not such a deep rumble on tickover imho.It is also one of the best free flowing backboxes you can buy compared to the std and some other aftermarket backboxes.

if your into bass then the blitz is the daddy and can be heard coming from a long way off, i love this clip:

The ninja 2 is a good compromise ,quite bassy on tickover and a nice roar when your giving it plenty, and does not require the bung on long journeys.

If you decide you've had enough of the blitz and want a vortex and/or ninja2 backbox in mint condition(A1+),with decat centrpipe you know who to call.
