Ok guys, so today i went for abit of a drive out of town and on the way back as i took my foot off the accelerator (not sure what gear but wasnt going fast by any means...) i heard like a pop sound from the exhaust!!!

Now am i just being waaaay too paranoid or is it sumfn i need to worry about???

someone please put my mind at rest!!lol

have you got a decat? my car has full decat and pops and bangs all the time its normal i wont worry to much

 

does it alot when i shift down a gear or take my foot of the accelerator its just unburnt fuel igniting in the hot exhaust

 

Probably a piston cracking

 

You fcker or it might be a blade of ya turbo coming out the back box

phew!!!!! Just that i was reading something the otherday about the car not being set up properly if it backfires or pops etc.... (cant remember where now tho!ha)

You need a remap mate.

 

First time it happened to me also it scared the crap out of me - now I love it

 

not long just had a remap my friend (Aladdin)!!!!

But yes Siannie - it is starting to look like im not the only one then right!!??he he

 

most scoobys running full decat will pop and bang this is increased if using a vent to atmosphere dump valve as some over fulling will acure

 

2nd on the remap to prevent over boost and boost cut

 

Had it mapped roughly about a month or so ago....

As soon as i come back off my holiday (this month) i will be adding some 550 injectors that iv bought and getting it done again anyway, but surely i shouldnt need another one so soon otherwise right????

 

Indeed, getting it to spit flames is quite a skill hehe, almost roasted my mate's starlet gt turbo one night....
My ECU can't be mapped, so would have to buy new one. When I have a spare 1k I'll go to Alan Jeffrey lol.
Got some ideas for tweaks i.e. better inflow of air to my newage intercooler... when I have money and a job

 

if its mapped for the full decat you will be ok only need to get a map tweak when you mod somthing else like your injectors

 

mine pops and bangs like a trooper all the time

 

Aye mine gives it pops and bangs on over-runs and it has a sports cat!
(Mapped and running perfect before it's said)
Gotta love the sound!

 

Maybe its just a nice rich map!

 

Mine leaves out some huge bangs on the over run. Has done since i put the sport cat on 3 years ago. No problems at all
