Default Problem with VIN code

Before I commit myself can someone decode this VIN number:
JF1 G D GKD 36G 052654 - its on a 2006 WRX in WR Blue
I know the JF1 is Euro spec and made in Japan, the first G is for Impreza and the first D is 4 door saloon. So far so good.
The second G relates to engine size and should be a 7, the K relates to model and should be 9 for a WRX and the D relates to restraints and should be 6! Why have I got GKD?
The 9th digit is a check digit, the 10th is the model year so 6 is right and the third G specifies 5 speed manual, AWD so they are OK.
The last 6 digits should be 500001 or more for a 4 door saloon so why does mine start with a 0?
Am I worrying unnecessarily as everything else checks out OK but I have never had a Scooby and don't want a whole pile of someone elses problem. Thank you

I dont think you need to worry too much.

My 2007 WRX has a very similar VIN number except it has a 7 after the check digit to signify 2007 model year and the last 6 digits are 069***

Mine also has the middle GKD which is supposed to show Engine/Model/Restraint Type although all the VIN decode sites (majority which are US tho') imply that these should be numbers?

You have nothing to worry about.

Your VIN number is accepted by the parts systems and tells me that the car is as you say it should be:

Color Code: 02C (wr blue mica)
Trim Code: B20 (off black)
Model Year: 12th Month of 2005 (so a 2006my car)
Destination: EK (europe)
Body Code: S (saloon)
Engine Code: 255 (2.5L Turbo - non sti)
Grade: WRX
Transmission: 5spd Manual
