Where can I buy a RHD import?
#1
Paul, when i bought my scoob i took the price off snoop4.com, used that as a base and then phoned/faxed some dealers in holland belgium to get some quotes. ended up getting a match and it was the best i've seen yet for an MY02, so i'd say it's a pretty good price guide.
They've got the following:
[edited to say for an M3]
Our Price £33675 (Inc. VAT)
UK Price £39160
Saving £5485
don't know how that compares to other places, maybe they just get good scoob prices. a good saving but still a lora money.
if i remember rightly the carimportguide site has got a list of dealers and contact numbers for dealers of all types of cars.
as for second hands, can't see there being many RHD cars for sale or we're you thinking of LHD
cheers
boultsy.

Looking at the posibility of importing a RHD BMW M3..... any idea where I could find such cars? I know you can bring RHD scoobies in from holland (see, this is scooby related, please leave it in general!), is it the same story with the beemers?
Also, what is the situation with bringing a second hand car into the UK? VAT?? Reg etc?
Thanks guys
Paul

I got the name of the dealer for my Scooby through a magazine called Car Import Guide, they have a website www.carimportguide.co.uk. Check out a few importers, but they do list www.bmwimports.net with payments made direcct to BMW dealerships(wouldn't suggest paying to an agent). Importer I used only import Scoobies. I would suggest shopping around though, difference in price, delivery times etc. can be extreme!!

correct harry they were greyuk, don't think they owed punters deposits as the car money is paid directly to the dealer but people did lose out on any UK extras ordered through them, road tax, extended warranty, stereo's etc. One of my work collegues suffered this fate.
alan I wasn't suggesting to use them to buy a car through, just to use their price as a reference, but good point.

Hi harry still been reading just not posting much, full on at work and sisters over visiting from aus so not much time on scoobynet.
Forget my car how's yours, just had your 1000 miler haven't you? I've just clocked up 6k in mine trying to keep it down but it's impossible, always finding an excuse to visit somewhere that involves a good run. Trip to paris week before last via channel tunnel (how easy was that), peripherique was a blast didn't see a single scoob, which explained all the looks you get off everyone, lots of drooling from french school kids
No complaints so far with the car it's a beaut. Got some money burning a hole in my pocket, thinking brakes, but also PPP, but still haven't received confirmation from Belgium and not really needing more power yet, this is my first impreza after all. STi bug eyes would be nice..ummm. No no, stop it and back to Paul thread, sorry mate
