Hawkeye owners in or around Bedfordshire
I have an Import STI Hawkeye I need to get through the SVA and wanted to see if anyone wanted to rent their front lights to me while it goes through, and then you can have them back?
They apparently need to be non xenon.
The car has passed an MOT, but requires UK spec front lights to pass the SVA.
If someone is able to help, please let me know.
Thanks

You don't need to change them all you need to do is cut the wires and by pass the Hid unit and put regular bulbs in and then after the test put ti back to standard. Why did you bother buying from Japan it would of been cheaper to buy from the UK. The only cars that are cheap enough to buy and warrant the whole import porcess at the moment are damaged/repaired cars or high mileage.

Got it really cheap and with 3000 miles on the clock running over 400bhp.
Thought it would make an excellent track car.
Its something to do with the headlights dont have the motor to adjust the angle of the light or something, so not sure just by passing the hids will be any good.

UK hawkeye STis have HID xenon headlights but with auto levelling.
So JDM cars don't have the levelling system then?
Not sure how UK headlights in your car will solve things unless they have the leveller attached to them and your car has wiring to power them.
otherwise its Juggers method

The headlights don't need swoping all you need is a screw driver. There is a little scrw on the headlights that adjust the angle of the beam. That's all you have to do.

So the alignment I can get round, but they are also saying because these are xenon headlights, they require to have washer jets and wipers fitted to the headlights.
I take it this isn't going to be easy to do, so ideally just need to swap over for non xenon lights just to get through SVA and then change back to the xenons

Lol, not yet, still look out and listen for the UK300.
Well I have found scoobynetters and Subaru owners in general very helpful in the past and willing to help out others, and Im sure someone will appreciate for example £100 to lend me their lights for an hour to get me through the SVA.
