Buying advice
Looking to buy a 2006 Impreza WRX and found one with incredibly low mileage (less than 4,000 in four years) and looking genuine. However, it was first registered in Malta - is that going to be a problem when I sell it on. The chassis number is JF1GDGKD36G052654. Any advice, as this will be my first Impreza, would be welcomed. Thank you

Hi, welcome to Scoobynet. It looks like that car is now sold?
Anyway, it's what's called a European Import, identical to a UK spec car, bar a couple of different digits in the chassis number. Some people have the belief that they are worth around £1000 less than a Uk spec car, but to be honest, these days that doesn't appear to apply as much as it did when the Euro imports first started coming to the UK in 2003, when the blobeye first came out, so no, it won't be a problem when you sell it on......it's a Subaru Impreza WRX, whether registered here or any European country, it's not a 'lesser' car because it was registered in Malta!

Mine was registered in Malta, didn't realise until I looked through the owners manual one day. TBH I don't think most people would care where it came from these days.

Car Purchase
I have paid a small retainer to the garage which is why it is showing as sold. Going up to view tomorrow and if all is well will take it from there. Will the very low mileage be a problem and is there anything in particular I should check? Thanks

If I was going to see that car (or any Impreza), I would check thoroughly for any evidence of crash repair work. Look at the brake discs, is there a lip on them? Check the fluids are all at the correct levels, check the tyres are all the same.
Generally, these cars have superior reliability and build quality levels, so should hopefully be a lovely genuine car!
