A few questions on running 20% methanol / V power mix


Are there any known issues with long term use ?

How often do you need to change the oil ?

whats the best grade you can get and where from ?

does the methanol have a shelf life ?

10% is the advised level for normal use, this gives around a 7% gain after mapping. I'd seek quallified advice if you planned to use above this.
Jennychem supply the stuff I use and their price is good.
It's poisonous both through the skin and if inhaled so need for care when handling i.e. good length rubber gloves, plenty of clear air.
Needs attention to detail all of the time when fueling the car i.e. maintaing the 10% inclusion.
I've used it in my car for over 2years without any issues

Having used meth for several years, the downside was going on holiday, eg touring Scotland (from Suffolk) for a few weeks and allowing for 2000 miles, I carried 2x25 litres methanol behind the two front seats. It was bad enough finding Shell stations up there but to carry large quantities of Meth around was not ideal
Ideally need 2 maps. 1 for without methanol.
