Need a good filler?
Hi all i had to drill out one of the fixings on my spoiler as the bolt had snaped off. It is made of fibreglass and i need a strong filler to fill the hole and then for the filler to take a bolt. Anybody any ideas of any fillers which would good for the job
Thanks Neil

What was in originally, that you drilled out? A bolt, or a nut?
if it's a nut, you need to get hold of one that can be used as an inserted one, or tightening into it will just pull it out again. If it's a bolt, get a decently long one and put plenty of filler round the head with the threads showing, so as to make it strong enough.
NO filler is strong enough to drill and tap and use as a thread, especially when holding the weight of a spoiler.

It was a wing nut that came out ? I have found some thick plastic strips with a threaded hole and bolt i think i am going to bridge the gap with it whilst using slow setting Araldite to position the hole and then fill it with fibre glass resin when it has set ???
