I would agree ,but there are a few others and i would also say Litchfield is not to far off from RCM as he is more of a pioneer and his developments towords the impreza are 2nd to none.

I reccomend RCM to my northern customers and Litcho to my southern customers.

A few quotes from the guy.

As above who are the best engine tuners / builders in the uk? looking to build 2.1 or 2.5 capable of high BHP figures? Any ideas / recommendations appreciated!
ive been in contact with Alan Jefferies at Engine Tuner. Talking about a spec similiar to this:

2.1 stroker engine based on a closed deck block.

Turbo Technics S206 turbo with stainless intake system, catch tank system, manifold risers and power steering relocation kit.

FMIC

1000cc injectors

Bosch pump with swirl pot system installed (already have walbro)

Re Map my ecu (already have simtek)

Would be looking at around 500bhp with that with about 480lb or torque.

Would just need to figure out my Gearbox and maybe up the brakes to a minimum of a godspeed kit. Money money money

What do you think of the potential spec?

Cheers

Unfortunatly money is an object So its more of a budget build to a certain extent. Id like to try do most of it my self or with a hand of people!

Ive also thought of a 2.5 thats my major decision to make either 2.1 or 2.5 and its down to wich is going to be the most driveable and also which will work out cheaper in the long run. I.e. working the block to my heads etc. So maybe should have some crack with rob at some point? If your willing to input on your knowledge?

Drew is another option for me to contact also Andy K.

Fitting and building the engine is probably the only thing i wouldnt want to do :-/ Would scare the hell out of me lol!

Does anyone know how swirl pots work? Ive seen pictures and i think i have the gist of how it works... Fueltank - walbro - swirl pot - fuelpump - fuel lines.

am i about right there?

Cheers for help guys

I now its not going to be cheap Id probs spend upto £15,000 over the next 2 years. At the end of the day i want an extreme weekend toy not for daily driving. I think ill be starting with the box if i can get a good 6 speed. PPG Will just be too expensive to run unfortunatly although i would love one. So if anyone knows of a 6speed box going in the next 2 month let me know the spending starts after my holiday in august!

Cheers for some advice guys. BTW how hard is it to set up a dccd 6speed

If money is an issue when tuning to high power levels then the best advice is to probably give it a miss.
