Guaging Interest

Guaging Interest [pics]
Thinking of putting my super clean Impreza up for sale.
Spec:
I bought it after a tip off from my friend who works at the main Subaru dealer - It came in in part exchange and as soon as I saw her it was love at first sight, especially on the test drive!! However due to a change of career circumstances which now involves a longer commute it's now got to be sold.
Modifications:
Prodrive Performance Pack (Alcon Callipers, 330mm discs, Uprated ECU, 17" wheels).
3" straight through exhaust (front cat still remaining for emissions testing)
Sigma alarm and immobiliser
Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres all round
Baileys BOV
Service History:
Full, including all past MOT's and stamped service book. Timing belt (Gates) and all tensioners (INA) have also just been replaced by myself as well as the front crank seal (Subaru), radiator (Nissens), engine oil (Millers), gearbox and rear diff oil (Millers), filters (FRAM) and plugs (NGK iridium), rear discs, pads and drop links.
I've also just replaced the front discs and pads, using Godspeed who make a modified version of the OEM 330mm disc with detachable bell so next time the discs need replacing you only need to replace the outer rotor saving you a small fortune. I also opted for the recommended, and also most expensive, pad - the Ferodo DS2500. Total bill for this was circa £600
It's just had an MOT before listing and passed first time (new MOT now expires 27th June 2011) but it did pick up two advisory notes in the process - basically says that 2 tyres will be needed in the near future.
Tax expires at the end of July this year.
Points to note:
As you can see from the pictures this car has been well looked after all its life and really is a lovely example of the last of the classic shape Impreza's, plus she runs an absolute dream. There are a couple of dents around the body - worst being on passenger door (I tried taking a picture but it doesn't really show). This was caused by some inconsiderate tit opening their door onto mine, the second on the front drivers wing from me leaning over when changing the plugs. The windscreen also has a few chips, but NOT cracks. The dents can obviously be sorted with 30 minutes of a dent doctors time. Interior is clean but there are a few cigarette burns and marks, also the drivers side window control has come loose but still perfectly functional.
Anyone keen? Need advice on the price - I was thinking offers nearest to 3.5 considering the nutty amount of money thats been spent on her in the past couple months??

As it was love at first sight I would keep it, as it isn't worth a great deal ....... buy another car for your commute.
How long did you say you had owned it?

the **** has dropped out of the second hand market mate. SORN it and buy a scraper for a few hundred to do your work commute in. you will only get raped on the price if you try to sell to either to a dealer in part ex or cash buyer who will give you next to nothing for it.

Is the economy of the car sufficiently bad to justify another more economical runabout ?
I've been toying with the idea of a replacement for my wife's H6 legacy with 100k miles.
It does about 26-27mpg, so a car that can do 40mpg on the urban run will save around 800 pounds a year, for which a newish car is going to have to be fairly cheap to give a prompt return on investment and start paying for itself in fuel costs.
Why not run it for a while and see if the mpg are tolerable vs a new and potentially inferior car ?
I have a 40k miles single owner '99 car that I've just cleaned and bought a cover for, so figured it's better to hang onto it rather than sell for peanuts.

RE using mine for the commute purely because money is tight atm and insurance want a fair bit more if i'm using it for commuting..
Anyway, pic of my bike if anyones interested in that?
