Classic scoop air splitter

Hello, I have a zerosports undertray with a splitter for my 1997 classic, the bit that goes over the tmic fouls it and I have tried to cut and bend it to fit, just wondering , do these make any difference at all , and has anyone made a custom one to fit in the standard undertray?
