cheers to you guys who gave me the bits and advise on the car got a track day tomorrow at oulton park,I'm running the 1997 wrx wagon against 2 Clio 172s,a sti normal road car (no mods)an a merc 190. took it out today and well pleased with it,breaks have been done,air fillter,turbo swapped,air con removed and most of the inside has gone oh ye iv also added bilstiens they are good done a quick run today an stuck it on youtube,i will do a vid tomoz an stick a feed on here,if i cant take over them i will have to knock them off http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSN8FmD3S3E again cheers for all your help

Whatever the speed, driving like that on a public road is more than a bit irresponsible. Mind you posting the evidence on YouTube doesn't seem particularly bright either. You do realise over/undertaking like that is enough to get you written up on its own?

As for the HGV drivers "hearing you comming"<sic>, the mere fact that you're trying to justify your driving in that manner says a lot about you. In addition, no matter how loud your exhaust may or may not be, I would doubt a typical HGV driver, sitting on top of a big diesel with his aircon and stereo on would have any idea where you were - especially with you switching lanes like that.

Confirmed, they will not hear you coming until you are at the side of the cab(i drive HGV) which is normally the point when its too late.

Back for me now. Must ahve been a server issue at work. According to youtube the poster is 41. Not something I'd expect someone of that age to be doing if I'm honest.

Looking at the speedo needle, it's just past the verticle point so depending on the clocks that are in it, somewhere around the 90mph mark.

well iv just seen all your replies after a good track day,I'm not into giving stick out over the net so here are a few things that you didn't know 1 the speedo is in kpm but is still knacked and shows 70 even at thirty and wont go past 70 no matter how fast i go,i have a sat nav telling me how fast i go,2 if you take a look that hgv has just pulled out so i must be going ooooooo 20-25 past him the big factor here is the noise as there is no carpets no sound proofing no back seats,and the big 3 here is that's my daughter in the passenger seat and would not put here in any danger,so the people who have slated me,i think you may want to have a look in the mirror,i leave my loony days for the track

1.u pass a car in the right lane as soon as u come out the junction,
2.then u pass 2 lorrys in the left lane
3.then cut in front of the first truck in the right lane as the truck in the left lane is going to slow for you
4. and you did this with your DAUGHTER in the car.

There was a very nasty looking accident on the A49 just by Oulton Park yesterday afternoon with a red Imprezza rolled along the tree line at the side of the road just past the Alvanley Arms pub. Police had the road down to a one lane contraflow. Not sure if the car had been at the track day I had attended, but from the damage it would be likely someone was hurt. Hope it's no one from here.
