Sticking throttle linkage
Hi all, Ive searched the forums and cannot see if anyone else has posted anything on this so apologies if someone already has. I have been racing my Scooby last year (at Scooby Sprint) and this year (MSA sprints) and my throttle linkage is becoming very worn and loose. Putting the pedal flat down hard is no problem and the response is instant as usual, but if I am feathering the throttle I frequently get like a click before the throttle kicks in and I am off. If I have to replace the whole mechanism from pedal to engine, its not a quick job (or a cheap one given Scooby parts prices), so I wondered if anyone else had come across this and if they have any simpler solution. We have tried greasing the cable sheath, taking up the cable slack, and tightening up, oiling and greasing the butterfly and the pedal linkage but with little improvement. Oh and hi to all the guys up in York - I am staying south of the country this year but hope to see you all again soon. Liz in Cardiff.
