Default help to work out my fuel consumption

Been away for a long weekend and trying to work out my average fuel consumpion i used 49.89litres/ £63.31 of vpower to do 270miles.
which i thought was pretty good for a 320/320 lightly modded car
but struggling with the maths abit.
cheers in advance for any help

I would put that in again, thats not right, especially if you add town to it

Just do the basic maths
Ensure your car is running miles and not km or you will have to convert that

So, take your fuel ammount you added, divide by 4.55 (its 4.545 but who cares ) so say thats 40ltrs/4.55 = 8.79.
Now take your miles, say 300, divide 300 by 8.79 = 34.1mpg

Why am I not surprised?

I used to get around 29 mpg from my GX, but driving less to and from work and a suspected dodgey lambda sensor has severely killed that, I daren't even work it out. I do know I had a good service the other week and it's shot back up again.

According to that efourcourt link:

motorway miles and v-power = 26 mpg

heavy right foot and v-power + 10% meths = 10mpg
