v5/6 sti tmic, good upgrade for uk turbo?
spotted one for sale in mint condition, toying with the idea of fitting it to my uk turbo, is it a direct bolt on fit and is it a decent upgrade from the standard one? got a few bits to fit on my car and it will be running around teh 300bhp mark. or should i spend the money instead on whiteline droplinks and rear arb??

NO DIFFERENT in performance to the one you have on mate, they look nicer but thats all.if you want to upgrade the tm cooler then go for a newage version sti or jdm spec.spend the money on the whiteline goodies you will see a major difference in the way the car handles without a doubt.

I did this but keep the OE DV. I used the OE DV to Turbo inlet pipe. There is a metal pipe welded to the OE Fuel rails, I removed it and the Newage pipe fitted straight to the turbo inlet. All in cost was about £50 I added the I/C badge to make it look original.
Here's some pics of mine fitted.

Had a V6 STi TMIC on my 98 classic. It had to have a special pipe to fit the dumpvalve, since it's d/v was bolted to it's front face, mine is on the end of a short hose.
It WAS better than the OE one, the inlet pipe under it is much better, if nothing else, Bob Rawle, who mapped it, said it was performing better than an OE UK one.
Now swapped for a FMIC after suffering heatsoak in France and destroying the engine.

I modded my original one to fit it.

Here's the link again. There's only a bit of bending to do if it's done like mine.
