Default Classic Steering Rack

I got a MY97 WRX, and the steering rack is leaking fluid. I got quoted 236 euros to get the rack refurbished.

Before I do so, is there a better performing rack or a quick rack I can install on my Scooby? Note that I used it everyday.

Thanks.

Just got a deal on a used 1998 STI rack for 200 euros. Will this one be quicker than my current wrx one?

standard UK racks are 3 turns lock to lock, then there are two different version for sti's; 2.5 which is what you should have and a rocking horse $hit version thats 2.25 or thereabouts.

Kinda helps I hope

- So a STI one is quicker then a WRX of the same year?
- Would it fit exactly into place, without need of any modifications?

should be...but no guarantees as it could have been replaced

No modification required to fit though.

Thanks for the info!
Just worried to buy a used one, but I think given the circumstances its a good upgrade.

Is there any number to identify the racks?
