Engine upgrades!
Right then, next year i'm planning to give to car hopefully alot more power.
I'm a mechanic so engine building isn't an issue, what is though is what route to go down.
Whats considered the best and most reliable for a daily driver?
2.0 stroked out to 2.1 or 2.2 ect, I presume this should only be done with a closed deck block, forged internals ect...
OR
2.5 bottom with a 6 speed box, forged internals ect
Was looking at at least 400 bhp but I know the gearboxes in the turbo 2000 wagons are made of toffee lol
Any advice and comments are welcome
Cheers

The original open deck block is plenty strong enough for 400 bhp. A 2.1 will give you more torque and better spool and won't cost any more to build than a 2 litre.

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhh!!!!!!
So many options and sooooo many good opinions!
Which block then, the EJ22 or the EJ22T? seem two EJ22 engines on fleabay but they're none turbo jobbies.
Any ideas on cost Alan bearing in mind I can build this myself, just need all the bits
and info as to what would need doing to the block, any machining ect....
