Default Check engine light?

Hi all

Had my00 uk classic few months now n had no probs until other day when it was really hot and I had air con on for a while and the check engine light came on, I stopped the car and engine and turned air con off and light not on anymore. It was first time I had air con on other than checking it when I bought it. Could the air con of caused the light to come on somehow or is it just coinsidence? The car is standard and I was driving very resesrved as family was in.

Any thoughts or similar experiances

Turn ignition off, connect the black plugs together under the dash, turn ignition on and read the number of flashes on the Check Engine light and you will get an indication what it thinks is wrong.

I will do as you say and report back the number of flashes, If there was a problem though wouldn't the light have stayed on?

Thanks
