check signs of head gasket
Temperature when warm should hardly vary up the road.
- Check dipstick, oil filler etc for signs of water/yucky brown sludge
- When engine Hot, leave car to stand, remove Expansion tank cap carefully
- How clean Expansion tank and water (look for signs of oil)
- Run engine with expansion Tank cap off
- Check water is not Bubbling up
Make sure no engine rattle
Also another common thing is rear suspension knock
IIRC IHMO
