I have that on my WRX and didn't change the rear diff, so I'm going to say yes.....

Providing a WRX saloon has the same diff as a wagon.

Hi

AFAIK it's the UK / Euro / NZ STi non DCCD 6 speed.

As it covers a few continents it's last few numbers are asterisks........ 2002-2004 bug / blob 6 speed.

You will need the gear linkage and the prop shaft if I remember right (I've got the Jap Bug 6 speed conversion which needed a new rear diff but the gear ratio's are a bit "marmite").

Have you seen the size of the newage WRX and the STi gearbox.....the STi gearbox looks about the size of Wales and it seems a miracle that the damn thing could fit under any car LOL. I also tried to Lift one at RCMS and it's bloody heavy...........takes a lot of abuse though

LOL, I know its huge. I did a search and came up with this.

What rear diff to match gearbox
Hi again everyone, i have bought this gearbox for my 93 wrx including propshaft and gearlinkage. The box number is TY856WN3CA i know its out of a 2002-2004 6 speed uk sti with a suretrac front diff and viscous centre diff with a 3.9 diff ratio. Do i just need a 3.9 rear diff out of a uk classic?

Many thanks for any help
Cheers Rob

Rob

When I looked around for a six speed for my bugeye the bug / blob 6 speed non-dccd would fit as long as I had the gear linkage and propshaft (Legacy).

No change in the Diff

A quick phone call to API sorted it for me LOL
