Just take an insurance policy out,

That u might be thinking u need.just incase,U never know your plans might change...!?!?

If u dont need it in the end cancell it, WITH-IN YOUR ALLOWED PERIOD.

u might get stung for some paper work or, administration cost! just a sugestion.

Under any insurance policy you have a 14 day cooling off period, as rcwhite mentions. Just check to see how much cancellation will be within this period. One day car cover is a rip-off!

I've used it before, i just googled it and picked one. £21 for the day all in.

What's the reason for them not wanting to insure you??

They useually won't touch anything modified at all in my experience, maybe they have changed now though. They are also very funny about points on your license.

That's not what the 14 day cooling off period is for.

I can't understand why you'd do it the hard way, when getting temporary insurance is so much easier.... and you're not taking the **** doing it that way either.

Also bear in mind if you do an annual policy and have a claim they'll charge you the full annual premium.

Things might have moved on but from my experiences short term insurance is very hit and miss.

They are funny about age.

And always seem to say no when it comes to modified or turbo cars.

what would u advise moley,

To be fair to the OP he is trying his best to do the write thing, and stay the legal and law abiding.

I dont actually think my advice is that bad honestly,a little of the politically correct lines.

but he is staying legal and doing the correct thing,in a round about way.

Keep in mind, if you take out a policy with a company, then cancel within the cooling off period, you may not get a quote / cover from them come the time you actually you need cover.
