hi guys got a facelift uk classic an had car mapped to 324bhp earlier this year with the vf23 an just wondering is it worth switching to a vf35. with the uk box the vf23 dont make full boost till about 3600rpm an wondering if it worth swapping to spool up quicker if there is a difference. any help is appreciated. thanks

Mods were:
Hybrid FMIC,
Remap,
k&n 57i (only there because of fmic)
Full decat 2.5"
Walbro 255 fuel pump
3 port boost solenoid.

It's 3 years since i sold the car but iirc boost started picking up around 2500rpm with full boost (1.3bar) being achieved around 3200rpm. Like i say - it's a while back. Again however - the car was totally fine to drive and was was not hugely different to drive after fitting the 35 other than having more bang when the loud pedal was pushed

or andy forrest td05 16g fronty entry, fits all 1997 onwards.

This turbo is very popular on installations aiming for up to 340bhp.

This turbo will typically spool up to 1 bar boost by 3000rpm and full boost by 3300rpm.

..........but runs a std gearbox close to it's limit! - having said that, chatter city possible as a TD05 is strong enough to run without a dump valve and even if you do break a gearbox it's a good excuse to mod some more

VF23 to VF35 is not a big difference. TD04 to VF35 is a good difference.
VF23 to TD05 18G is a good difference.

Does your car have a fmic as my vf28 starts hitting boost at 2800 rpm, which is about 500 rpm later than my tdo4.Full boost at 3600 rpm seems quite high ,unless you were running a vf 22. My mate has an sti version 3 with a vf 23 fitted,81,000 miles and that starts hitting boost pretty much the same as mine.

yea mate i have a fmic too but bcause of the uk box it takes along time to get up the rev range. mine starts to work about 3k then all full boost at about 3600rpm.

You don't need forged internals for a TD05 18G.
Spool will depend on gearing and modifications but generally full boost by 3500 in 4th gear on a level road or before
