Should be getting 230 -280 per tank
I have averaged 250 per tank for ten years

has it been serviced recently

Get about 160 miles to a tank on average on my 99 RB5 with TD05, aftermarket ECU etc.

Best i ever got was 200 miles and think ive had it as low as 100 ish with aheavy right foot

My car has the same size of a tank as yours so easily compared....what sort of milage is that your getting to a tank then??

Don't work it out on how big your tank is or where the needle is on the fuel gauge.

Work it out by running it, brimming the tank, then use the miles/litres used x gallons and you will have your exact MPG mert

My old WRX, an MY93 would at very best do 200 per full tank. More like 160 -180 depending on how I drive.

Like CHOC says, brim it and work it out gert proper like..

I also have an MY99 UK Turbo, running around 270bhp and I'm averaging about 25-26mpg with mixed driving

got 275 miles out of the last tank before the light came on, then filled it last night which was just over £60

so you have something wrong with yours

IMO...

UK/Euro classics should get around 25-28 OK.

Later STIs and P1s should be around the 22-24 in normal driving.

If you're getting much worse figures either a sensor's on the fritz or something mechanical isn't helping. Could try to check the air filter and brakes...

I would say that is about the norm. Allows for a little fun too

I'd look for a seized calliper, they can ruin your fuel consumption. Also, you may have a fuel leak. I just had one on mine, fuel only leaked after the engine had been running at bit and got the fuel system up to pressure.

So, in the morning, there would be NO fuel on the ground. However, after running the car for 10 mins and parking up, a small pool formed on the ground. Got that fixed pronto, that had me down to the economy you quote.
