Question

Hi,
I own an Impreza GT MY95,
my two rear shock absorbers need to be replaced,
but before replacing them I need to ask,
should I replace them with the same kind (MY95), or can I replace them (all 4) with MY99 (do they fit, is it any good, cause of the different springs), put on STI 5 ones (I was offered) or maybe go for something else?
thanks Udi.

Udi, you can fit all the strut options you mentioned. Biggest difference would be the STI 5 struts in terms of stifness (believe its a different design, inverted strut I think). You would probably find the 99 models a bit stiffer also. I went from MY 94 suspension to 98. Suprisingly very little difference. How about Koni inserts for your existing struts? Works out about the same price as a new set of struts from a dealer but far superior in terms of quality with the added bonus of a degree of adjustability.
