I read on here recently that the JDM has equal length headers, which makes for greater top-end power but at the expense of the burble. It may just be a scoobynet myth though

Unless they were changed Helen, the bugs are all unequal, the JDM blobs are equal with twin scroll.
Are the headers (or manifold as we english say ) wrapped?

Tony

they cant be unequal or it would burble. you will have to replace them with a set of unequal ones to get the burble back

I have a 2001 bugeye, had the normal burble sound when i bought it, changed the heaaders for equal length ones and instantly lost the burble sound, have put a louder end can on, now everyone says it sounds exactly like a motor bike when i boot it... tbh once you get used to it you wont want to change back, love the sound, sounds very crisp...

Enjoy the car Helen, you cannot have the burble sound on a jdm unless you put unequal lenght headers on and wave goodbye to 25-30lbs of torque.
