Default JDM Headers

Is it true that JDM STI (2002 model) are equal length headers and if I got them changed to unequal length then I would get the notorious burble?

Bug eye's are unequal and you probably run a vf30 turbocharger, blob eye JDM STI's are equal length and run a vf36/37 twin scroll turbocharger

Well not really, if the car is an MY02 then its not twin scroll and wont have equal length headers so wont need them changing unless they were already replaced with equal length ones, on a twin scroll there is no point changing to unequal length as 1. they wont fit, 2. its a step backwards.

Ah sorry - I misread. I thought she said she has a 2002 Bug with JDM headers, not asking if they had them! But yes if you fit unequal ones it'll give you that blobloblobloblob.

As far as im aware that part has not been changed, the car has a mongoose exhaust fitted but just doesnt have that rumble, is that down to the exhaust if I have unequal headers.

AFAIK no bug ever left the production line with equal length headers.

As Shaun say's, no turbocharged bug had equal length headers, they didnt come in until the MY03 twin scroll cars.

You don't want the burble back ... the JDMs "scream" like a race car. Much better than the burble IMHO.
