I read on here recently that the JDM has equal length headers, which makes for greater top-end power but at the expense of the burble. It may just be a scoobynet myth though

Unless they were changed Helen, the bugs are all unequal, the JDM blobs are equal with twin scroll.
Are the headers (or manifold as we english say
) wrapped?

I have a 2001 bugeye, had the normal burble sound when i bought it, changed the heaaders for equal length ones and instantly lost the burble sound, have put a louder end can on, now everyone says it sounds exactly like a motor bike when i boot it... tbh once you get used to it you wont want to change back, love the sound, sounds very crisp...
