Subaru Specialists in Kent
Hi all,
Looking for a Specialist in the Kent area as i have a few running isues with my impreza
Was thinking about taking it to ScoobyClinic or API because have heard good things about them although it a atleast 3+hlf hr drive away.
So does anyone know anywhere or is it just worth taking it to one of the above.
thanks in advance

There is not much about I am afraid.
Barretts Canterbury stoped doing subaru years back...they do still take the odd one in - but charge a fortune.
Graham at GDA near tonbridge wells - who was good and not widely known buggered off to Canada a few years back.
Dean larkins mobile services are in Medway - He gets good feed back from the South East guys
Slow Boy Racing - In South East London. I have never used them.
Len at Subaru4you also has a very good reputation - Newbury down the M4. So some way but all motorway driving.
Might be worth heading over to Essex and seeing who the Essex scooby crew use these days?
thats it off the top of my head
Cheers
Steve

Thanks for the info Steve, i am from Canterbury and a mechanic friend of mine used to work for barretts but think he's pretty much fed up of scrambling under motors, and like you say they do like to charge a fair bit.
Thats what i was dreading, think either way i'll have to take a long drive so might as well take a it to the Midlands.
thanks again.

I have never used them but there is Trac-art in Ashford, which is a lot closer to you.

I take mine to SW Autos
Run by a guy by the name of Stuart who is very knowledgeable and always seems to have some interesting cars sat about. Not a Subaru specialist by trade but, as i have said, knows his stuff alright.
If you want a further reference then simply ask Jolly Green Monster - he originally recommended this garage to me many years ago

depends what exactly th problem is and where you live. i would recommend.
sw autos or deano at larkins auto services. to be honest your better off telling us exactly the problem then go from there, or come along to kent scoobies meet and ask around. BHP is on this monday at lydden hill so always worth meeting us there ....

Couple of people have recommended Slow Boy Racing so could be worth a shot.
as for the promblem:
I was driving home one day and stopped at traffic lights, it cut out and wouldnt start again. it had a a slight missfire before due to a cracked coil so changed these and the plugs after i got towed home, still with no luck.
it will idle for few seconds, but at around 1.5k but as soon as you touch the throttle it dies, try to start again after and it wont, seems to be really over fuelling as can smell alot of unburnt fuel in the exhaust.
So i checked the CEL and came up with coolent temp sens and MAF which were changed, again having the same symtoms. i also changed ecu (thought it could be this), plugs, cracked coil as mentioned, oh and the fuel pump relay.
i took it to a friends garage and they checked it over, has fuel, good spark and was compression tested which were all fine but they still didnt know what was wrong with it.
just want to take it to someone who could definetly solve the problem.
hope this clears things a little.
as for lydden i was thinking of going as i only live bout 10mins away but not sure yet.
thanks again for all the help.
oh and i live in canterbury
