Default STI intercooler on a WRX 'hawkeye'..what do i need?

afternoon all,

im going to ask a question of which i hope might one day be a sticky post for the use of future generations..

here we go- ive got an intercooler from a 2006 STI type UK , of which is going to be plonked onto my 2006 WRX.

Now then, what do i need in the way of hoses/pipes?
ive had a browse around various forums and the only definate answers are for the 05 and below.

For the Hawkeyes some are saying the original metal pipe can be used but you'll need a longer hose for the bottom. Some say you'll need new hoses for both or an STI samco hose kit. Some say you need a full STI pipe change. some say the STI and WRX for 06 have the same pipes.

is there any of you out there that have actually done this exchange on an 06 who can actually confirm whats needed, or if its a straight swap etc.

hopefully this will be helpfull for others in the future too.

cheers all
