td05 16g front entry problems
hi everyone iv brought a td05 16g and a front entry compressor housing and iv got a few problems when i received the turbo i found it has quite abit of play side to side but no in and out does this sound normal also when i removed the compressor housing i found 2 little cut outs in the compressor wheel
what are these for? also my main concern is the front entry compressor housing looks about 2mm bigger than the 90 degree one this part
i think it came of a big 16g will this still be ok to use

Hi Tommy,
I've just reviewed some of the pics I took of my TD05 16g from when I changed the casing over to the front entry to see if I can get an answer for you.
Original TD05 16g turbo:
Compressor wheel:
It appears as though I too have some sort of notch cut-out on the edge of my compressor wheel? Not the best of pictures, but as far as I remember, I did notice it and thought that they were machined, and therefore meant to be there.
Compressor Casing:
It's hard to tell without taking the casing back off (And I'm not about to do that again) if the new front entry casing has a larger diameter orifice than the 90deg one?
Ceramic Painted:
Finally, I cleaned the turbo exit housing up back to the bare metal and have given it a coating with Techline Black Satin Ceramic Header paint. Looks sooo much better than the rusty old brown that it was, plus it's meant to be awesome in terms of heat resistant properties to help with cooling of the engine bay and retaining the heat of the gasses and improving the flow???? That's the theory anyway .
