Default WRX-STI ??

Hey folks

When a car is advertised as a wrx-sti what does that mean, I just though it was either a wrx or a sti...lol

Thanks

An STI is a WRX with better goodies...

So all STI's are WRX STI's

(Newage anyway... some Classic guru will now correct me regarding the older models)

Hi Helen its just the full name, people just call them STI's but if you have an STI type R for instance, its full title is WRX STI type R.

HTH

WRX Blobeye = 225 PS (265 PS with PPP) 5 speed.
WRX STi Blobeye = 265 PS (305 PS with PPP) 6 speed.

Spot on, after owning a wrx for a short while, every time you see an sti you will think if only i had bought one of those, don't get me wrong though I'm not saying the wrx isn't a good car they are, but an sti is just so much better in every way, its a totally different animal all together and definitely the one to go for.

Personally I would rather have my remapped hawk wrx than say a bug or a blob sti.

290 bhp with a whopping 350lbs ft torque. Makes a great, comfortable road car

ive been there twice before and agree with going straight for the STI, its a bmuch better base for modding and a much better drive!

yep i made that mistake brought a wrx. traded it for a sti a year later had them both totaly standard.and modded both, still regret wasting money on the wrx.sti is on another planet to the wrx.saying that i loved my wrx until i drove the sti.

You could say buy a ford focus diesel cause thats even cheaper to run and even less to ensure but lets face it we buy a scooby because we can't afford a ferrari but we want a near enough perform at a 'reasonable' price. If you are even thinking WRX vs STi then stop and go straight for the STi.....

I bought the WRX because I couldn't afford the STI at the time. By 6pm on Monday I will have STI power, but will have maxed out the WRX turbo and injectors, so the next stage is a bit more costly. I prefer some bits of my WRX, namely the colour because the STI was never available in dark blue as a bug, and the 5-speed box, but if I could afford to go back and wait 6-months for the price of STIs to drop and my saving to increase I would

It is a stronger car and leaves you better placed for when you start modding, after all why else would you come here
