Default Advise Needed concerning MY00 WRX-STI VI Type-R Shocks

Howdie folks,

Concerning the age (7 years) and the milage (142000 kilometers), I´m thinking about to change the shocks/dampers (or are they absorbers) of my Scoob.
Although I have my Scoob for sale, maintenance goes on when necessary.
It has to stay in good shape
Reason i´m also concerning the change is, that someone is selling his MY00 WRX-STI VI Type-R suspension (shocks en dampers).
That STI kit has done 50.000 km´s and is as new.

A few questions:
- Does someone have a picture of this set?
- What is the advantage or disadvantage of the STI-set compared to standard MY99 shocks and dampers?
- What do you guys recommend?

Other tips or info is very welcome, because I want to make up my mind asap.

Regards

Hans

If it's cheap, I'll have it

It'll be a bit of an upgrade if your car's a standard Euro/UK Turbo 2000.
- A bit lower maybe.
- A lot stiffer.

Vindaloo,

What´s cheap?
Do you know for what price they are usualy going?

I informed for standard shocks (dampers).
Total price is €575 - €600....
These are without springs...

Anyone more info about the STI´s?

In the Netherlands we don´t have experience with the Type-r because they are never sold here.

Cool

Don't hesitate any longer Hans.

Stefan Ruis told me he drove a Gtt with these setup once, and was impressed.

Much stiffer than the OEM-Gtt setup, but also comfortably enough.

Lowered just a little, mostly at the front.

Call or mail me when you go to Eric.
I will be there this saturday around 12:00 I think.
First I go to Grootegast (Froentjes-Bandenservice) where at 10:30 my new tires will be mounted. (Pirelli Zero Nero)

Cheers,

Arend.
