Default canister purge solenoid

hi can anyone tell me what a canister purge solenoid is? my mate has converted his auto wagon to manual, he has changed complete wiring loom but the check engine light is flashing code 35. it is a 1995 import.

Hi, it's a vent for the fuel tank that goes through a purge solenoid, than into a carbon canister, then to your throttle body. You don't need it, but if it's been electrically disconnected, you'll get the cel. It lives under your inlet manifold, turbo side.

The import 1995 doesnt have the solenoid, the UK version does.

Has he used UK wiring or ECU ?

i have a 95 import using a Z4 ECU, i connected a 95 uk 7D ECU when vpower ran out and i got that code
