Default Alley bonnet

Hi, I am about to buy a bonnet made of alluminuin and it may need a touch up paint, I have heard that these types of import bonnets are a nightmare for paint in keeping it's orginal and for touch up. Is there any truth in this? Please help. Many thanks

They're not a "nightmare". In many ways they're less of a problem than the alternative. If the ding hasn't gone all the way through to the metal, touching up is exactly the same as with a steel panel.

If it has gone through to the metal, the important thing is to touch it up as soon as possible (and especially when there's been salt on the roads), and to use a dab of an aluminium-friendly primer before touching in the top colour.
