Default Would you be happy with how these fit?

I bought a set of fog light covers from a reputable parts website back in December, only fitted them 2 days ago after the car was back from its rebuild. This is how they fit, with their own fitting kit.

Been told they've never had a complaint, this is how they are made ect ect. I wont get a refund as too much time has elapsed and i put stickers on them ( they sold me the stickers). So what do i do? throw £50 in the bin, as i wouldnt sell them to anyone in fear they just get sent back!!!

Needless to say quite

I agree, and i think its a terrible fit let alone poor lol.

I will send them back but they said they wont take them due to the time scale, even though i explained they had been on 2 days.

Will get them emailed and wait on their reply, thanks all for the info/support

Erm... according to the sales of good act..which I have been reading up on due to my own fitment problems with an exhaust system from a company that has a good reputation: There isn't a such a short time limit on defective goods. True, you lose your right to regret the purchase once 7 days have passed, but the seller still has to cover manufacturing defects.

You have 6 years as a private consumer!

I think you will find the copies are not deep enough, looking at it compared to the original, shaving some off of the copy will increase the problem surely.

These are not fit for purpose they do not fit, push the point with a 7 day letter asking for a refund due to poor fit/not fit for purpose and ask them when would they like to collect or arrange for the copies to be picked up(at their cost).

Oh and next time, do not fit the stickers until you have checked the fit is OK

7 day letter templates are free and on line if you google them. you can take the to small claims via on line route, should not cost much at all and you should get it back assuming you win. Keep all paperwork including the descriptions and any correspondance.

tonydewonderful: Its not a body kit they are foglight covers made and sold as a direct fit. Plus if i could shave them down i would but as you can see they have been shaved down to much already. Shouldnt be having to ad plastic to them should I.

Iv emailed back and await the reply. As for name and shame, it will happen if things dont work out! Although a their name has already been sensored from this thread

Again thanks for the support, my originals are going back on as soon as the paint has dried, going back to white too.

Not a good fit at all, the depth is way too shallow on those covers.
The name across the picture gives the supplier away too.

Why don't you tell us the company name whats with not telling everyone Surely that's what a forum is used for so other don't have to experience what you are going through

I cant, when i type it the name gets sensored out (see post #2) Plus i wasnt sure on slander ect. As has been mentioned its on the advert pic, genuinely didnt realise that till i posted it though and it will probably get deleted.

Defo right way round see the advert pic and look at the depth of the bolt locations then check mine. Plus they are shallow the whole way round and if they would even fit a different way round would still leave a gap.

the second post was mine and i actaully took the name out to give the seller a good chance to put things right first (i had guessed correctly as i had simular problem with said company).

seeing that pic makes my blood boil beacuse that is blatent mis-representation.
they look nothing like what hes got given. just like what they did with me.

(wink wink at mike h)

Oh right, i assumed it had been sensored.

Supposedly the covers are made from one mold ect so makes me wonder why they picture a different design of covers!

Had a go at spinning them round, swapping sides and can confirm they only fit the way i fitted them, stil a crap fit!

Update on this.

Getting a refund for the fog covers . Ive kept the fitting kit as i modified them to fit my original covers, they deducted £10 for those so i get £39 back.

Doesnt sound much but a better result than throwing them in the bin

As for naming and shaming, the main reason i avoided this was im very happy with the numerous purchases ive made from them. My only frustration was their (imo) email trying to fob me off.

So be warned with the fog covers, as i was told this is how they fit and are manufactured, so dont expect anything better if you order a set.

Thanks all for the advice/support
