Default What's my STi worth?

It's with a heavy heart but I've decided to change my beloved STi However, on the plus side, I'm picking up an new WRX STi next week

My Scoob is a 'grey' import and is full UK STi Spec. I imported it from Malta from new in 2002. Its on a 52 plate. Its in WR Blue.

Its completely standard and has covered a very easy 51k miles. When it arrived on these shores I had a Subaru dealer fit a Sigma alarm/Immobiliser (Maltese Subarus don't have these).

It has a full dealer history and the car is MINT inside and out. Apart from a few very small stone chips on the bonnet the paintwork is unmarked. Everything works as it should.

Went through the MOT 2 weeks ago with no advisories and yesterday came back from its 60k service where it had cambelt, discs and pads all round, 2 new tyres and a new rocker cover gasket. I've had the oil changed every 6 months and serviced every year regardless of mileage. Its taxed until the end of June.

So, what should I advertise it for?

A 70k mile STi Prodrive just sold in a local dealer and that was up at £7495 with a warranty.. 74000miles.

I have just paid £5800 for a 2002 66k mile Prodrive privately.

Scammers at HPI reckon mine is worth £9500 on a forecourt but there protection on the car sale is not valid if car is bought for 20% under their valuation! Ridiculous.

Its whatever someone is willing to pay I guess... by the description it sounds a really nice car and should sell well..

....you parallel importing the new one??? Dealer not want yours???

Hiya.

My friend Paul has similar vehicle but he has had some upgrades such as Prodrive Performance Pack (I think), anti lag, and launch control and is running about 380 safe horsepower. It is in beautiful condition and when he was thinking of selling it at Christmas cos he was skint, he was looking for £7000. I have seen them for as little as £4000 though for standard WRX STIs. I know this is not quite answering your query but I hope it gives you some scope

I'd say there will be few low mileage mint examples about so you could ask top money.

I think you should get £7500 for it in that condition and having fsh.

To answer a couple of questions, yes its a Bugeye.

Not offered it to the dealer as I'm trading my wife's Clio 182 against the new STi.

And yes, it is Mint. I had the dent man work on it last weekend and there isn't a single dent on any panel.

Your probably looking at 6-6.5k, one of your best options is to look at www.pistonheads.com and see what sort of prices these go for, you should note how long the advert has been on, if its been there a long time then its over priced, if it was on for a day then it was possibly underpriced.

People should really view before putting offers in for it

These are 8 years old, 24k new in the UK back then, at 3 years they were selling for 14ish k on the dealer forecourt, dropping 7k over the next 5 years is very good for a dealer sale, but the trouble is that you could have the most immaculate car out there, it will only go for what someone is willing to pay, 6-6.5 is right where the money is for these in good condition with decent miles and service history, take that you can pick up a lowish mileage 05 STI PPP privately with fsh for 10k and you see where it all goes pairshaped plus the bug isnt as desirable as the blob which also adds to your woes

Look through pistonheads, you will see the overpriced ones (7-8k and have been on there for well over the 15 day mark), but its a buyers market, not a sellers

Always a contentious thread to start.

Bugs are the thinking mans STi, I am expecting the very rare Prodrive Look versions to overtake the Blobs soon in value

The local dealer in Newcastle says he cant get Impreza's quick enough to resell, they are going out as soon as they hit the showroom...
...maybe worth a call to see how desperate they are...

Only joking, good luck with the sale !
