Default Best method for engine bay cleaning?

Hi guys, picked up new scoob last week (first one) and wonder if anyone could give me any advice on engine bay cleaning, areas to avoid etc. I will be doing it by hand (no jet washers). Thanks as always..

I think Gunk degreaser is a favourite in engine bays, cover all the usual areas, filter, battery, fuse box, plugs etc

I used Gunk spray on mine, works a treat. if your not jet washing(i wouldn't), then there's nothing to avoid really. Only thing to look out for are pipe/metal work which has a anti corrosion coating on them. I've seen a couple of cars where people go mad, and these parts start to 'fur' up as corrosion sets in after.
There are many products you can use on the plastic work to get it all shiny, makes all the difference!

Firebrigade. Slightly extreme though.

That said, having been on fire and blasted with a hose, she still started and drove so they can take a fair battering.

Some industrial de-greaser would do the job.

Autoglym engine and machine cleaner works well. I use the special brush too. I always try to cling film anything electrical and rubber hoses and plastics use rubber or vynil care on them.

Interesting as I haven't even had an offer through yet... Wonder if that's legal.
