which engine setup to go for
i have a sti v7 with a 20g bolted on sure it,s fast but looking for something more ie. 2.33 or 2.5 and stick with the 20g which one of the engine would be the best one to go for.
i really dont want to upgrade the turbo so looking at sticking with the 20g but gain more torque and bhp while retaining the fast spool.

i thought that the 2.1 stroker kit would be a waste of money surely i wont get much more power out of 100cc with my 20g thats why i thought the 2.33 or 2.5.
which engine are you running your 20g with beef on the bone also what figures did you get if you don,t mind me asking.

If you were thinking of rebuilding the engine anyway, I'd say definitely take a look at the 2.1, although the result will offer more potential than the 20g will give you. The S-CDB on your V7 would be good up to 500 bhp with the stroker kit and a higher spec turbo such as an S206.
The 20g still makes the basis of a very fast road car with a larger capacity engine.
Cost effective routes are the 2.1 rebuild - as Alan mentions - or drop in forged engines on a std 2.5 short block.
Both should offer near 400 hp and over 400 lbft on a 20g.
You'll still need some other supporting mods.
Is this the kind of output you want?
So how much do you want to spend is the starting question.

If its an open cheque book then ditch the 20g, go for a block to handle 600hp plus all the other extras factored in.
There has to be some target, either cost or power, otherwise it can all go very wrong......
