"Deplorable" Unite actions actually being funded BY LABOUR!!
So now after Brown and Darling codemn the Unite Union's strike action as "deplorable" we find that they've actually donated over £18m to help the union "improve management and training."
I'm sure that Unite will probably plough that money back as "donations" into Labour come election time - so actually my tax is being used to pay for Labour's election campaign?? Nothing like a good bit of money laundering eh Gordon?
Why the hell is this not headline news on the BBC????
No wonder the Unite members have flown all over the world to talk to other unions instead of just calling or videoconferencing them. They must be laughing at all of us - and worst of all - we - the UK taxpayers - are indirectly financing this farce.
Union behind BA strike receives £18m from taxpayers in ‘money-laundering’ deal with Labour
And the BBC runs a "budget to be lower than forecast" headline - no doubt to try and overshadow this disgusting fresh nugget of crap on our government.
And the previous Labour leader is also having a few skeletons come out of his cupboard... (ok ok so it's a Daily Mail... )

On top of all of this, the RMT have decided that their overpaid underworked members need to strike again, probably just because they need a few days off and don't want to use up their precious holidays.

Am I the only one who's sick of being held to ransom by unions and policiticans?

Unions have their uses just think about what would happen if we didnt have any.....
Ok I shall list a few things that the unions did for us.
Terms and conditions
Paid holidays
Pay rises
Maternity leave
Set working hours
Just to name a few, the RMT I can see what they are after, they want to stop the job cuts and stop the ammount of weekend work increase, that weekend work will have to then be done by the people left, you may find its night work and thats unsocial hours which impacts on home life.
Some of the points you mention (well what you have pointed out ) are very valid, but labour and the unions have always gone hand in hand, the labour party is the working man's party and it always had the support of the unions when it was formed as this was their voice (oh im sounding very unionist )

Bloody Unions (sorry Tony)
It's great they fight for the rights of employees... but these bigger unions have way too much self importance.. What will the union do to support the BA staff when BA goes tit's up as a result of striking...nothing...except complain the government didn't rescue them....

Hahaha lmao - fair point mate
As to the other comments re unions, I know they did a lot for us in the past - unfortunately, they seem to be stuck there and what they're campaigning for now, except to put themselves all out of a job by bankrupting their employer is beyond me!
The RMT are far worse - I wouldn't mind if I ever saw any of them working hard, but most of them seem to get paid more than the average office worker for no good reason....
I mean - do we see bus drivers striking all the time? No.
Are their conditions worse? God no!

BA Staff get paid twice as much as other airlines.
Most businesses at the moment are making cut backs to save jobs, be it by wage freezes, wage cuts or reduced hours. Even the Armed Forces are getting a pay freeze and jobs are being cut in the support roles.
Labour have reduced the amount of money going to the NHS to help injured soldiers because Help for Heroes is being donated loads of cash by the public and their facilites are being used.
It winds me up.

We should never have gone there in the first place IMHO and if Mr self ****ing righteous Tony Blair would "do it all again" I wonder if he'd still be so ****ing cocky if he was on the front line.

Me too dude. Mate, with the return on investment we get from MP's they'd be better used as cannon fodder in the Iraq / Afghanistan conflicts
