is this sti?
How can u tell a subaru is an sti?
The engine looks like the sti redtop engine.. u can see in the pics ur self
its a uk model, just 2L on tax book.. i think maybe this engine has been put into the car and its done up as sti replica..
Could anyone shed any light?

Easy enough to paint manifold crinkle red.

Hmm, aerial on the a-pillar....
The aircon unit?
No STi badges on the sides
Could possibly be a WRX V limited, with an STi engine popped in...
But the UK's didnt come in that blue did they? The engine bay looks original too....
Also, because it has been modified to have an FMIC, they might have painted the inlet manifold at the same time!? It looks a lil darker and shinier than the usual STi one...

As has already been said the Applied Model code will give away what it was when it left the factory.
Looks a tidy car BTW
And if it's any consolation, with the FMIC it has obviously been modiified and I would assume re-mapped and may well be running similar power to std STi if not more.

Biggest givaway that its not an STI is the fact that the arial is on the drivers pillar, the JDM STI has one in the near side rear quarter (electric), so a tarted up UK car by the looks, but the chassic code should tell you for sure, look for the stalks too, on JDM cars they are on the opposite sides to the UK cars.

If you where sold it as an STI I think you have been done
Looks like a UK car to me its not got STI seats strut brace or back lights and as said above the inlet manifold doesn't look original red and aerial is in the wrong place.
Looking at the pics what is on the water reservoir? looks rusty its not been blowing water out of it has it?

As many have said, manifold looks painted.
Oh well, hopefully the model code will have the answer. I mean, for all we know, it could be a normal 1.5 litre completely converted, painted etc etc

but know what you mean, though deffo a uk car with the "bling" fitted
