aaarrrggghh my turn for check engine light god damn it
hi folks i have a 94 wrx started it up after sittin in my lockup for a while got regular start ups though anyway car started idling lumpy a wee bit then when up to temperature the revs started bouncing from 1na half to 2 constantly up and down so did the diagnostic thing wee the plugs and it thrown up number 24 idle control valve so took it off and from what ive red on here the flap bit inside should move freely well mine was sticky so cleaned with a wee bit of brake cleaner and kept moving it till it slackend up then put back on car and started it up and its still doing the same check light on bouncing revs so would it mean that my idle control valve is totally gubbed lookin for sum advice please

Then give it a good run to clear the system. If it has been sat for a while even with regular start ups the system will need running through. Would be an idea to run a decent injector/ fuel system cleaner through.

thanks for replys always appreciated ill try reset ecu can i just keep battery off overnight as in my lockup anyway and cant take it out for a wee run yet as not finished my brakes and suspension would it be ok to put in some injector cleaner while its idling for a good while i hate it wen things go wrong when im nearly ready to put car back on the road
