T2000 is the plan

I've finally decided I will get a T2000 for max £3k in april/may cannot get scoobys out of my head at the moment.
Just a few questions:
- Been told to check spark plugs - maybe put decent ones in since they're difficult to get at???
- Insurance - do you all include the mods as I'm planning to get T2000 with some mods. Currently been quoted £750 without mods from admiral, but £630 with adrian flux (again without mods). How bad will it be?! I'm 25 next month with 7 years no claims no convictions etc (and female lol)!!!
- How easy is it to remove decals as I don't want mine to look like a shopping list, but I may like the overall colour?
- I know the UK models are the ones to go for but what you think about imports and are they any different to UK ones???
- How many of you service it yourself or get a mate to service it for you cash in hand?? Seems many scooby owners do DIY!!!
- What are best/cheapest tyres/brakes to use?
Cheers guys
Much love

- NGK 7's are about £50
- I was quoted £400 standard and £500 with mods.
- Use a hair dryer to remove decals or you'll take off laquer/paint
- Imports (WRX) are more powerful and subsequently more to insure, you best get a quote first.
- Garage for me, as keeping history is important. Especially if it has FSH.
- Toyo T1-Rs are great. Yoko Parada 2's are good and less than T1-Rs.
- Brakes....well, there's a good few options. Brembos from a newage STi, KSport 6 pots and Alcons. Horses for courses and prices vary.

For £3k you should easily be able to secure a late classic with low-ish miles (99/00/01).
You can even get a Bug WRX for that money. Saw a mint one 2001 with PPP go for £2450 the other week.
