hi i have just aquied a scooby 1.6fwd sti replica the problem is this it will not start i do not have any expierience with the 1.6 version and am unsure but it seems like its spinning way to freely (agen unsure if this is just coz im used to 2.0scoobs) the cam belt has been checked and al looks good there also there is a spark any help greatly apriciated

 

turning over too fast? lack of compresion maybe?

 

what would posibly cause that lack of compresion

 

timing belt jumped, bent valves so no compression.
head gasket gone.
piston has a hole in it, or rings have gone.
could be many things, id do a compresion test on all cylinders and compare them the manufactures specs, do a wet compression test too, if the readings higher when you do a wet test then its your rings.
