Question EcuTek low boost setting?

My car seemed to be running a lot slower for quite a while, totally forgot about the high/low boost setting wired into the demister switch..

Flicked the switch yesterday morning and car now a totally different animal, fast as ****!

Must have knocked it on to low boost a good way back by mistake!
Anyone any idea how much the low boost setting reduces power output?

So if my car is running at approx 285/300 what sort of power decrease would that equate to?

hard to say depends what boost its mapped to run probably id guess 1.3,1.4 or maybe 1.5 bar so if its 1.5 bar you may only be getting half boost but that doesnt mean half power>

Very dificult to guess a rolling road is the only way to get some sort of figure

I suppose it would take it back to the origional boost settings? ie on a UK Turbo classic before remap is approx 14psi and after around 17psi?

std car runs about 0.7 bar at 6k iirc

Running 0.5 bar which is what the actuator will possibly give you will be less than std.

Depends how the mapper has setup the boost/wastegate for the low boost setting. Could be 190, could be just above stock.

No wonder it felt a bit slow then, you really did have to rev the nuts off it when pressing on.

Have heard of people not being aware that they have this facility and taking the cars on dyno and being really disappointed with the performance. Took them ages to figure to try map switching.

I think it was because of the recent really bad weather I didn't notice straight away, tend to drive a lot slower in snow, ice etc.
