Does anybody know this scooby its on ebay for £1600 been looking at it but im a bit worried over the engine light being on, is it usual for a uk car to put the light on when you remove both cats?

yes i would imagine so if its no had it mapped off.....if your serious about the car take a code reader with you when you view and read the codes then

Yes i was thinking that i have got a diagnostic scanner in work so will use that

No it shouldn't put the engine light on. The lamba sensor is before the cats so it wouldn't make any difference. My brother has a uk my99 and he has completely de-cated his and has no problems at all.

I can verify that as my own UK MY99 turbo has an H&S fully decatted exhaust fitted and the CEL goes out as normal and never illuminates even after hard driving.

my car has no cats and is a 97 and cel light never been on plus you dont need to take a code reader just connect the black wire under the dash to read the codes.
