less than a week no, BUT, as said a lot of employers can be arsey. if you have a *** ed employer then get one anyway, reason being , if they try to ever sack you due to further sickness in future then this will go in your favour at a tribunal (after your sacking though) and will ensure a payout in most cases.

thx mate....went docs and said that less than week dont ned 1 but got a self cert thing so fill that out and hopefully all be well reason bit worried is cuz i no a few blokes at work been off sick and been payed 25 pounds for a week thats nice of them t w a t s

7 days from the 1st date, after that u need a doctors note.on a self cert you can put that you visted a doctor.
depends on the employer and how long you have worked for them as the whether you get full pay or ssp.normally whithin first 3 months you dont get any.
also depends on your contracted hrs and when they class there sick year from (either january to january or start of the new tax year) if you have exceeded them regards to sickness within that year then its zero pay. example if you are on a 20 hr contract and have had 20 hrs sick its normally no sick pay or ssp.
