Just a other thought, our american friends drive on the other side of the road so the lights will have the headlight beam pointing to the right, this would dazzle on comming cars in the uk and would no pass a MOT either.

As above:

Americans cars are left hand drive (LHD), so will have LHD style beam patterns. So no good in teh UK (unless you put tape on them, something Polish truckers "forget" to do, and blind everyone comming the other way )

They would fit, but seems UK inspection standards are a bit more strict than those in place in the US, as plenty of Subies I know are running JDM headlights on their cars.

JDM lights are fine ..... they drive on the side of the road as we do ..... the US lights would fit, but - driving on the 'wrong' side of the road the beam pattern will be illegal in this country.

To clarify:

RHD dipped beam pattern - for countries that drive on the left, as per UK, Japan, Malta, Aus etc (Illegal in any country that drives on the right- US, Canada, parts of the EU etc):

LHD dipped beam pattern - for countries that drive on the right, as per US, Canada, most of Europe, China etc (illegal in countries that drive on the left - UK, Japan and Aus etc).

The kick-up is what points towards the footpath/sidewalk. If it is on the other side, it will dazzle oncomming traffic. To them, it will appear that you are using high beams.

Cheers lads, so its back to the drawing board then, ive really struggled to find headlights for my 05 wrx so i got desperate and went looking on the US sites as well.

The cheapest ive been quoted fpr a UK drivers side headlight is £365 which seems absolutely horendous, does anyome know any cheaper sites / contacts?
